Birthmother Basics

Imagine moving into an apartment all alone with virtually nothing to call your own. Some Christian Homes’ birthmothers arrive with little more than a small suitcase of belongings, and the unborn child whose future she is planning.

Now imagine arriving at that same apartment and discovering that caring Christians have purchased and provided you with the things you’ll need to make the apartment your home.

Birthmother Basics are all the essentials a young woman will need living in her maternity apartment. Below is a typical list of The Basics each birthmother needs

Kitchen Basics
            Frying pan, small pot and cookie sheet
            Cooking utensils such as a knife, spatula, wooden spoons
            Plates, glasses and flatware for no more than four
            Cup towels and dishcloths
            Dish Drainer

Bedroom Basics
            Sheets for a twin or double bed
            Bedding Sets
           
Bath Basics
            Bath, hand towels, and washcloths
            Bath mat
            Standard shower curtain

Toiletries
            Shampoo, conditioner, bath and hand soap
            Deodorant and body lotion
            Disposable razors
            Toothpaste and toothbrush
            Mouthwash
            Sanitary napkins

Providing the Birthmother Basics for a new Christian Homes’ birthmother is a wonderful way to affirm a young woman’s choice to consider adoption for her unborn baby. At the conclusion of her stay at Christian Homes, she is allowed to take all the items with her to use in establish a new and better life.

Assembling a package of Birthmother Basics is a great project for churches, Bible Classes, youth groups, Bunko groups, sororities, civic clubs, employer groups or just a group of ladies who need a reason to shop.
