Fees and Financial Assistance

Fee Schedule
Infant adoption fees are based on a sliding scale set by the Christian Homes & Family Services Board of Trustees who are actively committed to securing financial support to underwrite at least 50% of the ministry’s expenses.

Three primary factors affect the adoption fees you will be asked to pay: the expenses Christian Homes incurs in providing maternity care for birthparents whether or not they are placing their child for adoption; the state mandated legal, record-keeping and counseling requirements, and the adopting couple’s personal wealth and income.

Family with Adopted Baby

Fees are paid throughout the course of the adoption process as steps are completed, approvals are granted, and legal work is finalized. The complete cost of a Christian Homes’ adoption – before Federal Tax Credits - is typically $19,000 to $24,000 with the minimum at $14,500 and the maximum at $36,895. The majority of the fee – the match/placement fee – is not paid until you and your baby have been matched.

Financial Assistance

Federal Tax Credits
Most adopting couples qualify for a Federal tax credit of $10,160. For information on your personal circumstances, please consult your accountant or tax advisor.

Other Assistance
During Adoption Orientation, you will learn about grant programs, loan programs, travel discounts and other ways to help subsidize the fees associated with adding a precious child to your family through adoption.
