A Letter from Brian and Jamie
Dear Birth Mother,
Thank you so much for taking the time to read our letter! First, we want to let you know that we understand that this is a stressful and uncertain time for you. We have been, and will continue, praying for you and your baby. We know that you have not taken the easy road, and the choice you have made has been a difficult, but well thought-out, decision. We respect your strength and courage, and thank you for choosing life and love for your baby!
We are Brian and Jamie and we are very excited at the opportunity to adopt our first child! Although we have been unable to have a child biologically, we have come to see this as a blessing. We know as adopted children of God, we have the opportunity to open our hearts and home to a child through adoption. We believe that God has a plan for every one of us, which will have many bumps in the road, but in the end that plan will bring us unimaginable blessings. Those blessings include you and your baby.
We have been together for almost ten years. We will have been married for five years in October 2011. We live in a one story house in the suburbs with our miniature schnauzer, Gretschan, who we adopted five years ago. She will be 11 years old on December 6th. We have the most incredible neighbors who are like parents to us and grandparents to Gretschan. In fact, we call them Granny and G-Daddy! They too are so excited to be a part of yours and your baby’s lives. They are praying along with us for you and your baby as you read this letter.
Jamie is an attorney who graduated from Texas Tech School of Law and runs her own law practice. This means her schedule is very flexible and she sets her own hours. She works when she wants to, takes time off when she wants to, and can take on as much or as little work as she wants to. Brian is a police officer and has been since finishing college. He works the day shift Monday through Friday and has weekends off.
We are best friends and love to spend most of our time together. We love traveling, especially on our Harley. Our favorite trip without our Harley was to Tahiti, on our honeymoon. We also love being active in our church and spending time with our friends and family. We camp, play Rock Band, snorkel, play board games, watch football and hockey, and love sitting out on our back patio in the cooler months enjoying our fire pit, with an occasional attempt at making S’mores. Brian’s hobbies include hunting, playing poker for charity, collecting model trains, and doing home improvements, while Jamie loves scrap-booking, cross-stitching, and reading any book she can get her hands on.
We both graduated from college, and Jamie got her doctorate in law school. We are both leaders of our small group at our church which meets at least once a week. We are also very active in the lives of our Godchildren and our nephews, which we have a combined total of six.
We are so excited to meet and talk with you! We will feel a strong obligation to our child as well as you, the birth mother, because we will have been chosen by you to become your baby’s parents. We will continue to pray for you and your baby and hope all of God’s blessings are upon you both!
