A Letter from Jake and Jeri
Dear Birthmother,
Thank you for choosing life for your precious child. We admire you for your selfless act of love and pray you will feel God walking beside you through this journey.
We are Jake and Jeri. We have been married since 2005 and have a three-year-old daughter named Addison, whom we adopted at birth. Our struggle with infertility treatments brought us to our knees before God, and He brought Addie and her birthmother into our lives. We are eternally grateful for them. We long for an addition to our “I love you” family. Addie is very excited about becoming a big sister and prays everyday for a baby brother or sister.
Our home is filled with love, laughter, and lots of hugs and kisses. We are privileged to live in a two-story home in a quiet suburban family-friendly neighborhood in beautiful Hawaii. You can see the ocean from our house and hear the rolling waves from our fenced backyard. We can often be found at one of three parks within walking distance of our home.
Jake is a pilot for the United States Air Force and absolutely loves to fly! He is smart and strong, yet is tender-hearted and gentle. He gets along with everyone and is very laid back. He is a very involved Dad. Jeri works part-time as a medical social worker. She has the gift of hospitality and tries to put others’ needs before her own. While she sees her job as a ministry to others in need, her sense of fulfillment lies in motherhood. That is her greatest calling and her first priority.
Our hobbies are really each other! We love spending time together as a family, soaking up the Hawaiian sun. We enjoy buildling sandcastles at the beach, riding bikes and walking our two-year-old silky terrier named Sophie. We love going to movies or hanging out with our friends and their children. We volunteer together in our church nursery and help in Addie’s Awanas class. We attend and routinely host a weekly family ministry that is for families with young children.
Although we are across the ocean from our famillies, they are still very much a part of our lives through phone calls, Skype, and frequent trips to visit each other. Jeri’s family lives in Texas, and Addie has three cousins there she loves to play with. Jake’s family lives in California, an hour away from Disneyland. We love going to theme parks, especially Disneyland, and try to go every year.
We promised God and each other when we married to love each other for a lifetime and to raise godly children. We are committed to passing on the legacy of Christian faith that was passed down to us.
Thank you for taking time to read our story. We would welcome the chance to get to know you and walk with you on this journey.
Sincerely,
Jake and Jeri
