Should you decide to stay at our maternity home, you will be provided with the following, free of any charge to you:
A nice, comfortable bedroom that you can decorate with your personal pictures and posters. Each bedroom has its own private bathroom for your convenience. You will find plenty of room for your personal belongings.
Excellent medical care including regularly scheduled doctor’s appointments. You will receive proper pre-natal care for you and your baby. Transportation to all doctor appointments is provided for you.
Delivery arrangements at a local hospital. Our staff will be there through your delivery to help you as you request.
Nutritious, well-balanced meals that are so important to you and your baby. Healthy foods and snacks are available at all times to you.
Individual and group counseling sessions. You will have the opportunity to meet regularly in individual, confidential counseling sessions with our maternity staff or private professional counselors. Each week, professional counselors conduct an on-site group counseling session to deal with issues common to all birth mothers as they experience pregnancy and prepare themselves to place their babies for adoption.
Opportunities to continue your education at the appropriate level. If you have not completed high school, you can attend the Abilene Independent School District. If you already have a high school diploma or GED, there are other educational programs available at 3 local private universities, as well as junior, cosmetology, vocational, commercial, and technical colleges. You will be provided transportation as you need for participating in local educational programs.
Transportation to work if you choose to find employment during your stay at our maternity home.
Recreational activities. Our residents enjoy the privileges of membership at the local YMCA, including water aerobics and swimming. Other activities include bowling, movies, shopping, visiting the zoo, visiting area museums and participating in community entertainment and events.
Exercise equipment. You will have a variety of exercise equipment available for your use in the maternity home.
